So I haven’t been around a lot recently. I’ve been kind of busy and distracted. I actually run a bunch of content websites and a couple of blogs. I’ve also been starting a new project recently that’s taking up my time. There’s a big learning curve, but the things I’ve been learning will serve me well when it comes to promoting my fiction too. I’m actually quite excited about it, but that’s not what this blog is about so let me get to the point.
I literally finished the first draft of my third novel Flying Lessons two minutes ago. I’m so excited. It’s great to have the first draft done. That’s always one of the most exciting parts of writing for me. Next comes the hard part–revisions. Revisions suck, but the finished results make all the pain and struggle worth it.
Now that I’ve finished the first draft of Flying Lessons I have some new ideas for this blog and for The Box that I’d like to share with you. Firstly, I’ve decided to just go ahead and publish with CreateSpace. I know I did a big pile of complaining about it not too long ago, but I think I’m just going to go ahead and do it. If I don’t, I might never get around to getting a paperback version of my book published. So I’ve made the formatting changes I needed to get together with my manuscript and now I’m trying to figure out the cover situation again. I hope to send for another proof by the end of next week.
The other announcement I wanted to make is that I’m going to write a little novella and post it on this blog for free. I’ll start that in two weeks. I’ll post a chapter a week. I thought it would be a good little exercise. I already have an idea bubbling in my head.
Anyway, life is pretty great right now. I hope it’s great for all of you too.
Before I go, I wanted to mention Ja’Nese Dixon. She’s currently doing a blog tour for her newest book Black Diamond. It seems like a good book and she seems pretty cool too. Anyway I think you should check her and her book out. Here’s here website.
